Yesterday was the first flight of InterCaribbean Airways from Bridgetown, Barbados to Kingston, Jamaica, carrying over 70 passengers and staff members.
Tourism authorities greeted guests warmly at Norman Manley International Airport, where the “Irie” flight got its moniker in honour of musical icon Bob Marley’s birthday and the airline’s 32nd anniversary.
“Today is a true testament of the confidence our airline partners have in the destination, and we take that confidence seriously,” Minister Barlett said in a speech read out by JTB Regional Director Odette Dyer. Edmund Bartlett, stated in his speech that “this flight is evidence of the power of connectivity and the belief that, through collaboration, we can achieve greater heights.” Read more
