For the first time in a number of years, the Cayman Islands is not included on any international official lists that question the jurisdiction’s part in the global financial system. After Cayman was taken off the Financial Action Task Force’s list of countries that need to enhance their anti-financial crime systems, Cayman was, on Wednesday, finally officially removed from the European Union’s list of high-risk nations with deficiencies in anti-money laundering, countering the financing of terrorism and counter-proliferation financing.
