    St. Lucia importing sugar from outside CARICOM

    Because of the ongoing shortage of sugar on the island, St. Lucia has announced that it is applying for a dispensation from the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to import the commodity.

    The goods had been difficult to obtain from the usual source in Guyana, according to Commerce Minister Emma Hippolyte. Read more.
