Guyana has expressed appreciation for Anguilla’s decision to lift visa restrictions for Guyanese nationals, which took effect immediately.
Anguilla’s Minister of Home Affairs, Kenneth Hodge, announced this move on Monday, emphasizing its aim to strengthen bilateral ties, boost tourism, and enhance business opportunities.
Last month, Anguilla’s Executive Council decided to eliminate visa requirements for Guyanese and Colombian nationals. According to a government statement, this change means that Guyanese and Colombians can now enter Anguilla without needing to apply for a visa beforehand.
Hodge noted that this decision aligns with Anguilla’s commitment to fostering robust relationships with both regional and international partners, while also developing a sustainable migration policy.
A statement from the Guyana government highlighted ongoing discussions with various countries regarding the potential for visa-free travel, including the British Virgin Islands (BVI).
