The popular Jamaican dancehall musician Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, requested on Wednesday that a court in London overturn his murder conviction. Kartel cited attempts to bribe the jury during his trial and the use of incriminating text messages as reasons why his conviction is unsafe and should be overturned. Kartel is one of the most popular musical artists in Jamaica and has collaborated with famous performers such as Jay-Z and Rihanna. Read more.
